The work
Two oils on canvas of 2007, twins: a blue sky taking up half the picture and beneath it a countryside in bands — ochre, green, brown —, with no figures and no houses. In one a small clump of dark trees breaks the line of the horizon; in the other not even that remains, only the fields and the sky.
They are among the few works in the corpus painted in oil, and among the last of all: the landscape reduced to its bands of colour, forty years after the first autumn in coloured pencil.
