The work
Before the stone comes the wood: this mahogany, sixty centimetres high, is the design for «Ab Ovo», which in that same year, 1975, becomes a limestone two metres seventy high on the Warsaw escarpment, along the Trasa Łazienkowska.
Antonina often works this way on monumental pieces — first the small model, then the block — and this is one of the few models that survive: it belongs to the City of Warsaw, as does the large work that came from it.
