The work
Two great valves of walnut close around a gripping hand: W uwięzi — in captivity. With Smętek it is one of the two works with which Antonina introduces herself to the public at the Zachęta, between 1969 and 1970; and it stays with her a long time — it appears again, almost thirty years later, in the photographs of the 1999 Warsaw solo exhibition.
