The work
The disc has opened here like a shell and inside the cavity a child sits in profile, knees drawn up, its back against the inner wall. Outside the bronze is smooth and bright, inside it is rough and brown.
The waiting is given by the pose and by the place at once: the figure does not stand on a pedestal, it stands inside a form that contains it.
