The work
The mother with a book, in the indoor version: the seated figure bends into a ribbon of steel, the head is an empty circle, the volumes lie in her lap. In 1980 it is shown at «Dialog», the exhibition that joins Warsaw and Berlin.
This work’s elder sister is a monument: since 1979 a mother in steel more than two and a half metres tall has been reading in front of the library at Mielec.
