The work
A mahogany bust crossed by a tear that runs down between head and chest: rozdarty, torn. The face stays still and severe — it is the impersonal face shared by the wooden busts of these years, polished to a mirror — while the body opens. The theme returns identically in a second sculpture of the same years: two distinct works, with the same title.
